Embracing Ethical Power:
Right Use of Power in Therapy
In the realm of helping professions, the concept of power often carries negative connotations, stemming
from personal experiences of abuse and oppression. However, what if our aversion to power
inadvertently limits our ability to facilitate positive change, both for ourselves and our clients?

Imagine if we were to redefine power as a force for ethical good and collective well-being. The Right Use of
Power TM supports therapists to harness their inherent power responsibly, fostering a nurturing
environment conducive to client growth and healing. Join us for an immersive workshop experience that
delves into the intricacies of power dynamics, encompassing five distinct types of power and the
nuances of up-power and down-power interactions.

Through engaging activities and heartfelt
discussions, participants will embark on a journey of self-discovery, exploring the intersection of power
and compassion in therapeutic practice.

Hey WCHT Community,

Be careful as the snow melts looks can be deceiving, be careful with the ice that still may be present.

This weekend if we find ourselves indoors to stay, let's embrace this time for reflection, connection, and self-care. Here are some ways to stay engaged and uplifted:

Personal Reflection: Use this time for journaling, meditation, or exploring creative outlets.

Stay Informed: Keep an eye on local weather updates and prioritize safety. For the latest information, visit AccuWeather.

Remember, even in isolation, we are a community. Let's support one another and stay connected. If you need assistance or someone to talk to, please reach out to us at https://www.womenscenterforhealing.org/

Stay safe and warm,

Weekly Reflection: Finding Balance Amidst Turbulence

As we begin this new year, our hearts are heavy with the events of the past weeks—the devastating New Year’s Day terrorist attack in New Orleans and the wildfires ravaging the Palisades in California. These moments of tragedy and uncertainty call us to reflect deeply, to care for one another, and to prioritize our own healing.

Healing the World:

Collective action begins with small, intentional steps. By healing ourselves and building community, we become better equipped to take on the larger challenges in the world. Whether it’s advocating for justice, offering support to those affected by these recent tragedies, or simply holding space for one another, we can all contribute to the healing of our world.

Take Care of You:

These wheels remind us that healing is cyclical and interconnected—what we do for ourselves impacts our communities and the broader world. So, we encourage you to prioritize your mental health this week. Whether through meditation, community engagement, or quiet reflection, know that your well-being matters.

January: A Time for Resetting and Refocusing

Happy New Year!

January is a month of fresh beginnings, an opportunity to reset, refocus, and prioritize what truly matters. It’s a time to assess where we are, identify where we want to be, and take intentional steps toward personal growth and fulfillment.

The start of a new year reminds us to pause and evaluate what we’ve learned, release what no longer serves us, and embrace the possibilities ahead. Whether you’re setting intentions, organizing your goals, or simply trying to bring more balance into your life, know that we are here to support you every step of the way.

Here’s to resetting, refocusing, and stepping boldly into 2025 together. We can’t wait to see all the incredible things you will achieve.

A New Chapter Unfolds – Stay Connected with Us

Dear Friends of the Women’s Center for Healing & Transformation,

A week has passed since we said farewell to our cherished location in Abita Springs. While the transition has been bittersweet, we are filled with optimism and determination as we step into this new chapter. The Women’s Center remains steadfast in our mission to be a sanctuary of healing, empowerment, and transformation.

Moving Forward Together:
We extend our deepest gratitude to the members of our Transition Committee, whose tireless work has been pivotal during this time. They have been busy coordinating virtual programming, networking with community partners, and fostering relationships to secure spaces for future in-person offerings. Their dedication ensures that our connection to you and the greater community remains strong.

Exciting Updates and Opportunities:
Change, though challenging, often reveals opportunities for growth. As we explore new possibilities, we also look forward to sharing updates about partnerships and locations for in-person programming in the coming months. Together, we will continue building a community that thrives on hope, resilience, and shared purpose.

A Reflection on Change:
As we embrace this journey, we’re reminded of the beauty that comes with transformation:

"Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly."

– Unknown

This season of change, though difficult, is giving rise to something beautiful. We are evolving, spreading our wings, and preparing to soar into a future full of promise and possibility.

Stay Connected!!!
Here’s how you can continue to support and engage with us:
Stay tuned for announcements about new partnerships and spaces for in-person events.
Share your thoughts and feedback to help us shape this new chapter.

Thank you for your unwavering support and belief in the mission of the Women’s Center. Together, we are creating a future filled with healing, growth, and transformation.

With gratitude and optimism,

The Leadership Council

There is a lot of love and promise for the future as we say goodbye to the building. We could still use some help today and still have some items for storage or giveaway. Text 985 264-8089 to be sure we will be there when you stop by, and the drum circle is at 6:30 tonight! Last open event in the center. Keep your eyes on email and social media for our next happenings after a holiday rest. Thanks to all who have helped hands on and on their keyboards as we move through this week of transition.

TONIGHT!
We will be gathering in a sacred circle tonight from 5pm to 7pm to bid farewell to the space, connect with each other and provide support as needed. If you are available, please come tonight.

To Our Beloved Community of Women, Healing and Transformation!

In our journey together, we've faced challenges, celebrated victories, and grown stronger as a community. While transitions like this are never easy, they remind us of the true heart of our mission. This moment calls us to lean into the essence of what we've built - a network of transformation, healing, and unshakable support. Though our physical space may change, our purpose and impact remain steadfast.

Together, we will adapt and rise with resilience and creativity. We will support one another with kindness and understanding. We will also carry our mission forward into new spaces and opportunities.
As we embark on this new chapter into 2025, let's hold onto the vision that brought us here and look toward a future full of possibility. Your strength, stories, and voices continue to inspire us every day.

We are more than a building. We are a movement. Together, we'll keep healing, transforming and thriving. We hope to see you in the building today, tomorrow and Friday, please check your emails and platforms for available times.
