Was in the neighbourhood of Noordeinde in Den Haag city center and couldn't resist and early Ethiopian dinner of injera and Fish stew from Passion Ethiopian Coffee. First time I eat it with fish and it was so delicious. Next I will come for breakfast

Autumn is here and it's time for African kids camp.
Give your child an educational farming experience in nature at the Olmenhorst orchard.
We are going to Olmenhorst Estate, orchard for apple picking. Children see that the apples are not ready in plastic on supermarket shelves, but just grow on the tree.

Experienced pickers explain to the children in the orchard about various aspects of fruit cultivation. From fertilization by the bees to what apples are actually for; protection of the seeds. Then the children pick the apples from the trees to take home, of course they can immediately take a bite, after all, the fruit is grown organically here.

We shall then use these apples to make a delicious apple pie, apple smoothies/juices and salad.

Bring your children for storytime Around the World and have them discover the most beautiful stories from all over the world together!

The first edition will focus on East African culture and Mollynn Gift Mugisha-Otim, founder of Africa Cultural Promotion Centre, will read from the picture book Mama's Magical Kanga . A Kanga is a versatile cloth used for carrying babies, among other things. Afterwards we will do crafts together and learn how to use the versatile kanga.
Be sure to bring your favorite cuddly toy to practice!
We will end the afternoon with a delicious snack from the East African kitchen!

We have learned that change is the only thing that is truly constant in life. People, friends, times, and plans are all subject to change. So today, our plans for the summer adventures camp had to change. We were all set for a day out in the woods at Monkeybos and the beach. But with the weather forecast predicting rain for the most of the day, we had to submit to nature and change to an indoor location. And so we have had such a fun day at Funzone indoor playground in Delft. The choice was eady because the kids voted it to be the best trip ever during our tales from Africa summer camp in 2021. what a wonderful day, well spent unplugged from technology and making new friends. We are forever greateful to the parents who entrust us with their most precious possession, the children!

Over the last 3 weeks, we have had the best time visiting our home country in Uganda. Catching up with our extended family after a long time, and the highlight was for our kids to meet my grandmother, their great grandmother who is well in her 100+ years!

The kids connected with our different aspects of African culture like language, food and dance now. They now feel a stronger sense of identity and belonging and we are thankful for that.
