Two weeks ago I had the privilege of traveling to prior lake to make tattoos for my dear clients Chad and Mona LeMair and some of their friends and employees! My favorite about this life are the unlikely friends and relationships that have developed as a result of tattooing. A bottomless well of gratitude for the people it has attracted into my reality! I started tattooing Curtis LeMair in 2017 when his dad Chad brought him from Minnesota because he wasn’t yet 18. Curtis is Minnesota wrestling champion and his dad is his coach! Curtis moved to Aberdeen and began wrestling for NSU. Tragically in Oct 17 2018 Curtis went to sleep and never woke up. At some point after that I began tattooing his father Chad, I was able to recreate the tattoos I had given Curtis on his dad and several others as well. It has been heartbreaking to see how devastating something like this is to such a tight-knit family, But at the same time incredibly beautiful to watch the alchemical process of turning pain and suffering into something positive for the collective whole. They’ve started the Curtis LeMair legacy foundation and still very involved with the northern wrestling program and alumni holding events for young people in Curti’s name (camp Curtis)! They own and operate a gym (La bodega) and work with young people daily to help them on their path. Chad lives by the words “Do good things” which he most certainly does, and always seems to be looking for the next good thing to do! It’s a way of life for this man, I respect him greatly for it. I’ve only touched on a couple things here the Lemair’s do in honor of Curtis, there are many more. I could never say enough good things about this family!! I want to say Thankyou to Gary,Anna,Susan, Paul, Anthony, Kelly, Luke, Travis, frank and especially Chad and Mona for your hospitality and friendship over the years I appreciate you guys very much. You’ve thought me much about life without even trying. Thankyou! I didn’t get all the pics of tattoos I get in a hurry when I got a line n I forget to take them. The tattoo I made for chad was of Lincoln, Curtis’s black lab that recently passed away. 🙏
