Here are the ingredient labels from a veterinary diet dog food and a pet store dog food.

Ingredients are often the same or even lower quality than in cheap pet store dog foods. And there’s no mystery … the same companies make both types of food so they use the same ingredients.

And the vet foods can say it’s for “joint support “ or “weight loss” or … but the pet store dog food … with the same ingredients … can’t … unless they prove it.

All pet store dog foods, whether high quality or low, are subjected to FDA regulations. But if it’s a veterinary diet, the FDA practices “enforcement discretion" and doesn't review or verify their health claims.

Same low quality ingredients … different rules … and different prices❗

Veterinary foods are often priced at a premium … sometimes twice the price of the budget pet store dog food.

So save your money or feed a better quality dog food with higher protein, lower carbs and fewer chemical ingredients to help your dog feel better.

Indigenous peoples followed a lunar calendar depicted on the back of a turtle's shell. The turtle held a special place in the various cultures of Indigenous people. One of the origins of the term Turtle Island is the lunar calendar.

Turtle shells have 28 smaller outer edge scutes, representing the number of days from one full Moon to the next, and 13 larger central scutes, representing the 13 moon cycles.

13 moons x 28 days in cycle = 364 days in a year... plus one day of rest. Today is that day. The winter solstice, when Grandfather Sun is the farthest away from the northern hemisphere, and also the longest night. Everything is to rest today, and prepare for the upcoming year ahead.

Put your offerings out and ask for good things to come.

Below is my beautiful turtle shell rattle. Inside her shell are crystals infused with reiki. She holds much power when used for healing, journeys and in prayer.

JUST A DOG -
From time to time, people tell me, "lighten up, it's just a dog," or "that's a lot of money for just a dog." They don't understand the distance traveled, the time spent, or the costs involved for "just a dog."

Some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a dog." Many hours have passed and my only company was "just a dog," but I did not once feel slighted.

Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by "just a dog," and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of "just a dog" gave me comfort and reason to overcome the day.

If you, too, think it's "just a dog," then you will probably understand phrases like "just a friend," "just a sunrise," or "just a promise."

"Just a dog" brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust, and pure and unbridled joy.

"Just a dog" brings out the compassion and patience that makes me a better person.

Because of "just a dog," I will rise early, take long walks and look longingly to the future. So for me and folks like me, it's not "just a dog" but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment.

I hope that someday they can understand that it's not "just a dog," but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being "just a man." So the next time you hear the phrase "just a dog," just smile--because they "just don't understand."

It is with a heavy heart the we are announcing the closure of our store front office. We will be shifting the Biofeedback Sessions to our home office. Our last day here will be Oct 21st or so.
