Today was a BIG day. Hundreds of people from independent pharmacies across Kansas joined together at the capitol to make their voices heard. What we did today is going to determine our fate and determine patient’s access to the healthcare they deserve. A lot is weighing on whether the PBM reform passes or not.

This is just the beginning and we are not done with this fight. We promise we will continue to fight for our pharmacies and patients until we all get what we deserve. We want to continue serving our amazing patients everyday! Thank you to every single one of you who have made your voice heard and helped us in this fight. We will be advocating for lawmakers to make sure people can get their medicine, stop pharmacies from closing, and fix unfair PBM rules.

💊 What’s Happening?

Big companies called PBMs decide how we get medicine to you. They make it hard for small pharmacies to stay open by paying us less than what we pay for the medicine. They also take back money with tricky rules. If nothing changes this year, closures like many surrounding independent pharmacies could last forever. Pharmacies that stay open can’t safely take care of all the extra prescriptions from other pharmacies closing. Mail-order services also take too long or don’t keep medicine safe, which could hurt patients.

In an effort to bring a more consistent overall customer experience, build a stronger,
more nimble workforce and streamline internal workflow, our pharmacy in Osawatomie, KS will be upgrading software vendors on 1/28.
