Hi everyone! We are nearing 500 likes on our page! Thank you to everyone who shares our posts! We are hoping to reach 550 likes by the end of the weekend! It’s in the smiles❤️ small groups, personal attention, individualized support and connection= kids connecting to their bodies and each other. Week after week the bonds get stronger, new obstacles are attempted and conquered, new games and songs are invented with our little friends!

Tonight’s Move and Connect Ninjas worked on gross motor skills, communication and socialization, sharing and making friendships. A therapeutic and recreational class created just for our kids 🩵 by a physical and speech therapist !!!! Sign ups for the February session going on now !!! Classes from 18 months-early elementary. Please share with parents who have children who would benefit 🩵

Physical therapy fun!!! We are beginning to work on jumping utilizing fun jumping spots and a toy with four balls to give a fun goal to the activity. He had to go back and forth to get each ball several times :))))

If you are a tutor, counselor, or OT looking for space to see pediatric clients, we are entertaining the idea for a like-minded, neurodiversity affirming professional to share our space and materials during some open schedule blocks at our Acushnet location. Winter sessions are happening now…come join us !!! Recreational and therapeutic classes run by professionals who know how to promote movement and connection for our little “ninjas”!!Classes are in a large sensory motor gym! A class for children with various needs created just for them and run by a physical therapist and speech therapist with 25+ years of experience. Come join us 💙! Classes for various ages available.

This is a creative social group for neurodiverse girls aged 8-12 who have low support needs- we make a craft together to take home, have a snack, and play in the sensory gym. You are probably familiar with the term parallel play, but did you know that a child playing alongside another is part of a sequence of development? And that sometimes parallel play stalls?

Parallel play occurs when children play in groups, in preschool classrooms, day care centers, playdates, or in small groups, including alongside siblings. Playmates that play beside one another may be using the same toys or playthings or they may be using different toys.

It’s an opportunity to build social skills by observing a peer, using new words and building on language development, seeing new vocabulary in action, exploring different scenarios, exploring social behavior, even at a young age.
Parallel play is a process in social emotional learning and social emotional development, and includes practice in the social development that might not happen in stages of play prior to parallel play (unoccupied play, solitary play, and onlooker play).

Because parallel play requires proximity to other children, it’s a great way to practice the skills needed for play stages after parallel play as well, leading to a healthy development of social awareness.
There are six stages of play in early childhood including:
🧸Unoccupied play
🤸‍♀️Solitary play
🪀Onlooker play
🧩Parallel play
🛒Associative play
🏸Cooperative play

October flew!! We enjoyed our crafternoon class(Mondays at 330 ages 7-12), weds (530 ages 3-6) and thurs ninjas (445 ages 5-8, 530 ages 3-6) and Preschool Language (Tues/thurs 9-11). One thing’s for certain: these children are a gift. On to November…please enjoy the sweet photos and message to join the fun!
