How can we support each other’s efforts without falling into the trap of jealousy, fear, and competition?
How can we truly be united sisters?

The system of the patriarchy has long created divisiveness among women by fostering situations where competition, suspicion, and exclusion thrive as a means to survive.

If a woman has ever experienced this from another woman or group of women, or has participated in boycotting another woman’s genuine efforts to share by exclusion or bad-mouthing, know that this behavior is an element of the patriarchal system. It is a form of internalized misogyny.

To participate in it is to support the patriarchy.

Let’s support our sisters: rejoice in their efforts, squelch the primal response toward fear, jealousy and competitiveness, don’t engage in gossip or tearing down a sister, and give other women the benefit of the doubt. Reach out to your sisters and let them feel your sincere love in whatever way you can.

She ponders her life up to now, seeing it backwards. In the doing, she knows why things she thought were so painful and difficult then had to happen in the way they did.

She reflects on times she was judged and took a good, hard look in the mirror and learned her identity, her truth and drew to her the courage not to be hurt, but to let other's words or opinions become opportunities to visit areas and thoughts within herself that she might not otherwise venture to.

Her mind wanders to times, events, places and the people who supported her and loved her in each progression of her growth. She holds gratitude in her heart for her family, all of them, her birth family, her tribe, her soul family and her animal family.

She forgives the sadness, the trials, the broken hearts and the difficult circumstances. In her reflection, she is appreciative of the lessons they taught her.

She reminisces about her little girl moments, those when she felt confident and sure of herself, and those when she doubted herself, because she didn't know enough not to believe the lies and misconceptions of others that cast doubt on her own certainty.

She remembers with fondness her agility, her dance moves and her love of her youthful body.

As a woman, she's become comfortable in her skin, accepting the wand of aging, scars and all, because it's all part of her human experience.

She blesses the stars and the moon, however they appear to her, because they have been beacons of light reminding her since she was a child that there is more to this universe and it's important to view the world with wide-eyed wonder.

She finds herself at the edge of another transition and blesses her divinity and the grace that brought her to now. It's not done, but oh my the ride. Jody Doty

Solstice "Pulla". Over a thousand years ago spice traders carried spices including cardamom from India along the trade routes. Eventually making their way through Constantinople to the vikings into Scandinavian countries.The spice became popular in many baked goods. Finnish , "pulla" or "nisa" cardamom sweet braid coffee bread. Enjoy with some strong coffee.

Today is the longest night and the darkest day of the year for the Northern Hemisphere. It feels like a quiet pause, doesn’t it? A chance to breathe deeply and just be. And with this stillness comes a beautiful promise—that starting tomorrow, the world will begin to brighten, little by little. The Sun is returning. ☀️

I love how the Winter Solstice reminds us of the balance between light and darkness. It’s such a gentle teacher, showing us that even in the deepest quiet, there’s always a spark of life, a rhythm that nurtures us, even when we can’t see it.

The days will grow longer, slowly but surely. Even during the often cold and shadowed months ahead, there’s this soft whisper of spring, reminding us to hold on and stay open to the beauty that’s coming.

In ancient times, people gathered in warmth and community, lighting candles and fires to celebrate the light’s slow return and to call hope back into their hearts.
