Just want to express a quick message of sincere Gratitude & Appreciation for our little OAKFIT Family.
A lot of Work goes in to what we do on a Day to Day basis.
OAKFIT is a small, family-owned Company and we sorta like it that way.

The greatest Predictor of both Success & Longevity is your Ability to maintain Consistent Effort. (Discipline)
Strength & Discipline are the Pillars of the Culture we have built here at OAKFIT.
Athletic Qualities like Agility/Change of Direction, Acceleration/Deceleration, Resilience to Impact, and Endurance are all directly correlated to Force Output & Rate of Force Development.

Actually, here’s what we can say:
There is no doubt that we train some of the most Talented and Hard Working Athletes in the metroplex, but it starts with the Families.
The Families here have come to Trust the Process behind our Development Program here at OAKFIT.
The Culture of Success here at the gym is unmatched. Not only do we provide a safe Environment, we actively Engage each individual to meet them where they are at.

(Part 2) Strength Training for the Female Athlete. | Becoming Unstoppable.
A Durable Athlete is a Reliable Athlete.
And the Coach’s Choice will always go favor to the Reliable Athlete.
Strength Training has a Transformative Effect on the Mind of a Female Athlete. Whether your Goal is to Jump Higher, get a quicker First Step, or boost the Power of your Serve/Shot, lifting heavy weights is the way to go.
When it comes to Lower Body, Squats and Deadlifts are the King. (Or Queen 💁‍♀️)
However, putting a Barbell on your Back when you’ve never been properly taught can be just as risky as never doing Squats at all.
Whether your Goal is Jump Higher, get a Quicker First Step, or simply pass your Conditioning Test, becoming Stronger in the Ankle, Knee, and Hip is a No Brainer.
Don’t be fooled by Machines. Although some Leg Machines offer benefits, there is Limited transfer from Machine work into Barbell exercises. Since the Barbell is the ultimate end goal, make sure you are using Lower Body Exercises that allow you to improve Balance while Increasing Resistance.

Training considerations for the Female Athlete. | How to become Unstoppable: Part 1. 📝 🤓
Whether your Dream is to play Sports at your favorite D1 or simply to avoid getting hurt, your priority should be focused on Getting Stronger.
Resistance Training is scientifically proven to Improve Lean Muscle, as well as helping to Balance your Hormones.
However, not all Resistance Training is created equal, and everyone has different starting points and/or needs.
For our Female Athletes who spend a lot of time Skills Training for their Sport, but don’t have much experience in the Weight Room, we typically assign the use of Dumbbells in their beginning Phases of Training with us.
Dumbbells can help Enhance the Mind-Muscle Connection because of the Stability requirements needed to successfully perform certain Lifts.
Dumbbells also Improve your access to Range of Motion in almost every Exercise.
Another factor to consider when starting your New Workout Program is the Time Under Tension.
A slow Tempo will help you Learn Control of the Weights, as well as many other benefits down the line related to Tendon & Ligament development, or even Hormone Balance. This is a Topic we will go more in depth on a later post.

This past year we witnessed our Athletes take stages at a wide range of Events, from Paris Olympics to National Championships to Final Four Tournament to various Showcases around the Country, and so much more!
Our Model is straight forward: we emphasize Strength & Speed. Somewhere in between we do Mobility, Return to Play, etc. But never lose Focus of our End Goal of Building every single Athlete to Stronger, Faster, and More Resilient.
Everything is Built for the Individual. Never cookie cutter, never “Franchise in a box”. And if it happens to be “Trending”, that’s probably because we Set that Mark.
Top of their Class Athletes ranging from 8 years old to NCAA to Masters (50+), and everything in between. Both Boys and Girls, Men and Women.

Call us Old School, but we take Pride in our Craft of Coaching. | Shoutout to these OG’s.
Sure, we have “Technology” that helps us Measure what’s going on with our Athletes. Especially when we are trying to get specifics in something like Meters per Second during Sprints. Or even specific Centimeters for Jump scores.
But let’s be honest, there is not an iPad in the world that will ever replace the Craftsmanship of a Professional Coach.
Any Great Coach will be able to tell you everything you need to know with just a Barbell and simply watching you Sprint or Jump. We don’t need goofy, over-priced Machines.
Between Coach Ronnie and Coach Rob, there is combined 28+ years of Experience that cannot be matched.

Want to save a few bucks and have your kids work out at the new franchise in town who advertises they can’t teach them how to Squat because it’s “not safe”? That’s definitely not us.
