What typically happens to most Diabetic patients is that they show up in a doctor’s office with a couple symptoms, they are given a basic blood test, and diagnosed as a Type 2 Diabetic. They are told to take medications, lose weight, change their diet, and come back in 6 months to a year.
That’s essentially how Diabetes is managed in this country…and quite honestly, mismanaged.
What you generally see with Type 2 Diabetics is that they get worse over time, not better. Every time they come into the doctor’s office and the blood sugar is higher, they get more medications.
At some point, the oral medication gets maxed out, at which point the doctor talks to the patient about injecting insulin to manage their Diabetes.
The question that never truly gets answered is - what’s causing their Type 2 Diabetes?
That’s the question that I’m most concerned about answering; because when we treat the cause, that’s when we truly manage the disease.
