Voted High Times Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People (2018), Green is no stranger to making waves and riding them! Call her the the first lady of Cannabis, Queen Mermaid, “99” or by her original playa persona The Green Goddess, for Yvonne DeLaRosa Green, a bud by any other name would smell as sweet. International actress, activist, new mother and revered visionary in the world of cannabis, Yvonne is also Los Angeles’ first recipient of a Cannabis Business license - a truly historic note in cannabis history. Yvonne’s many first to market endeavors have all been manifested by seeing a need, filling that need and taking it up a considerably higher notch.
Flashback to the 90’s, Yvonne “99” DeLaRosa Green was just a young teen rebelling against society and unabashedly exploring the culture of w**d. As an admitted deadhead and friend to the band, Yvonne lived the life and dream of a southern California “Hippie Chick”. It was while attending a H**p rally at the Federal Building in Los Angeles that the course of her life would take a very interesting path. While taking a not so secret t**e with some friends, the late and great H**p activist, Jack Herer approached Yvonne and her friends. Yvonne handed Jack a joint and he thanked her by gifting her a first edition printing of his book entitled “The Emperor Wears No Clothes”. From this fateful meeting, Yvonne discovered there was more to what we were told in the media and what we had been raised to believe about ma*****na. And so began the birth of a new cannabis activist.
“I come from a long lineage of natural healers. As a Colombian and Native American, my healing roots run deep”. “We were raised with only natural healing modalities. We never even had a band-aid”. But it wasn’t until her mother fell ill that all of her whirlwind experiences with cannabis, her acting, and her background would collide.
While being heralded the face of the new wave of Latino talent by Actor Jimmy Smits, Yvonne was also unknowingly taking the steps to becoming the face of one of the most beloved and recognized female pioneers in the cannabis industry. As an actress Yvonne has appeared in countless Television programs including NCIS, CSI, Law and Order, How I met Your Mother, Longmire, King of Queens, and yes, Weeds. It was after filming the lead on a pilot for FOX, that Yvonne’s life was thrust into the world of medical Ma*****na when her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Unable to find a respectable dispensary she could actually take her mother to, a dream was born to “…create a dispensary that was not only visually opulent, but also to create a space that was spiritually enlightening as well as carrying only the highest quality products.” This led Yvonne to create the legendary 99 High Art Collective on Abbot Kinney in Venice Beach California, the world’s first upscale and hybrid dispensary which was also a visionary art gallery holding space for the leaders and mavericks in all things higher conscious, transformational and plant medicine.
“I wanted to create a place you could take your mother to, or your sister, or grandmother. A place where you felt good about what you were doing, surrounded by art and music and knowledgable cannabis consultants and super high vibes." Yvonne’s passion for art and healing blended seamlessly together and 99 High Art was heralded as one of the best dispensaries in all of California by Rolling Stone Magazine, LA Weekly and yes…High Times Magazine. It attracted a litany of celebrities in every disciple from writers, film makers, rock stars, Dj’s, artists, healers and even doctors. Yvonne has now brought the 99 brand to Malibu as the 99 High Tide Collective- Malibu’s first dispensary and the worlds first Vegan dispensary. With her experience, drive and passion, it is no surprise that 99 High Tide has already been recognized as one of the top three “Best Dispensares in all of California” by MedicalMa*****na.co.uk, “The Dopest Dispensary” by Dope magazine and myriad industry accolades including personal ones such as “Business Woman of The Year” by Industry Power Women. Armed with a masters degree in film and television from UCLA, Yvonne has also created award-winning projects and documentaries, as well as garnering awards as an actress for her vast and various film/ TV projects.
As the Founder and CEO of her own cannabis brand “99 High Tide”, Yvonne has successfully branded 99 High Tide as not only one of the best collectives in California but also as a brand for women, sophisticated cannabis patients and enthusiasts and millennials. As if that were not enough, Yvonne along with her husband/partner and award winning filmmaker, Sam Boyer, will be opening the world’s first CBD spa and healing center next to their Malibu dispensary and will be launching the worlds’ first Cannabis pass model app- “GrassPass”. Poised to become the top female cannabis entrepreneur of this decade, Yvonne currently uses her recognition and celebrity in the entertainment and cannabis industries to assist in sharing her knowledge and passion for cannabis and h**p and all of its benefits. “Ever since I was a little girl, I always wanted to save the world and help people and animals” she shares. It appears she is sky rocketing on a meteoric path to that endeavor.
“My mother is why I do what I do in the world of cannabis”. “Every person that walks into our dispensary is someone’s mother or father or loved one. It is my goal to make sure they are all treated with love, respect and compassion. As a poignant note, Yvonne’s mother forwent traditional cancer treatment such as chemo, radiation and drugs and with a protocol of cannabis and veganism, 12 years after being diagnosed, Yvonne’s mother remains cancer free and an avid world traveler. When not saving the world, Yvonne and her husband dedicate their free time to their baby girl, their “farm” of rescued animals and… well… saving the world…. including finding a cure for their god child Levi’s seizures and those afflicted by his rare form of epilepsy, healing our oceans, environmentalism and animal rights.
